July 20th, 2006 So You Want to be a SURFER
Surfing has been around a long time (at least 3 years). IMHO (in my humble opinion) its the #1 sport (though it doesn't get as many people watching it on TV as the World Cup does, yet). Especially since its been so hot recently (surfing is done in the ocean, in case you weren't sure, so you get to be in the cool water instead of the hot hot air).
Michael (a guy who just got back from surfing in Bali) made a great lens for any of you who want to take up surfing. I'm sure he's pretty pro at shredding (another word for surfing) because he's compiled a killer list of resources for surfers of all levels.
Never been on a board? Check out the amazing international surf schools you can sign up for. Need some gear? No problem bro, Michael's got you covered. Wanna learn more before you take the plunge? Get a book. Michael's got a whole bunch of 'em on his lens. Yeah, I know, surfing is awesome, and so is Michael.
(And thus concludes my experiment in writing with parentheses).
(P.S. Oh yeah, check out the lens: www.squidoo.com/surflinglinks).
